Because the cork is selected by a "vertical" process, the production chain for each product is entirely traceable, from the forest to the bottle. The "vertical” process means that all the cork from one lot is processed. It is not set aside and stored based on gauge ("horizontal selection”) but instead on cru, i.e. on its specific origin. Today, Mureddu Sugheri is still the only cork manufacturer to use this “vertical” selection method.
