Mureddu Sugheri has adopted a rigorous product control system that entails testing for humidity, residual oxidizing substances, compression recovery, gas seal and bottle extraction force and for sensory characteristics using a statistically representative sample of all incoming materials. This method was perfected in 1994 directly by the Company M. G. Dallavalle) and was announced at the “International Cork Symposium” held in Pavia in 1996.
Mureddu Sugheri has carried out destructive sensory testing on 250,000 samples. Over the last decade, these tests have allowed the company to achieve consistently excellent quality standards in cork that are only possible by combining careful analysis of the raw materials with scrupulous process control and rigorous product control. The company’s laboratories also use gas chromatography to test the sensory stability of all products intended for the market.
